چکیده
Rabeprazole sodium is a proton pump inhibitor with actions and uses similar to omeprazole. It is given orally as enteric-coated rabeprazole tablets and normally taken in the morning. For the treatment of severe ulcerative gastrooesophageal reflux desease, the usual dose is 20 mg once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. In the USA, a further 8-week course is permitted for the healing of erosive oeophagitis (Sweetman 2009). Chemically, rabeprazole is 2-[{(4)3-methoxypropoxy-3-methyl-2-pyridinyl} sulphinyl]1-H benzimidazole, its structure is shown in Figure 4.1.
